Pupils at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Newton Aycliffe recently took part in an important firework safety assembly delivered by the Fire Service as preparations begin for Bonfire Night.
The visit provided children with valuable guidance on how to stay safe around fireworks, what action to take in an emergency, and how to enjoy Bonfire Night responsibly with their families. Through an engaging and informative session, pupils learned the importance of following safety rules and making sensible choices when attending firework displays and celebrations.
The assembly gave children the opportunity to develop their understanding of fire safety in a memorable way, helping them feel more confident about staying safe during the firework season.
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School would like to thank the firefighters for taking the time to visit and share these important safety messages with pupils. The school hopes that children will take their new knowledge home and help spread awareness of firework safety with their families throughout November.
As Bonfire Night approaches, the session served as a timely reminder of how everyone can play their part in staying safe while enjoying the celebrations.
